It’s an exhibit to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Canada’s entry into World War One. The War: What is it Good For? exhibit will launch at Muskoka Heritage Place in Huntsville on Civic Holiday Monday and will showcase Canada’s and Muskoka’s involvement in the war. Town of Huntsville Collections Coordinator Sara White says there are seven components starting with a detailed look into a soldier’s life.

White says you will also get to see a section devoted to the Muskoka 122nd Battalion with artifacts from Colonel Grant.

Other components include weapons of war, metals and mementos and more. This exhibit is important to Muskoka’s history. Manager of Muskoka Heritage Place Ron Goslin says the exhibit is going to stick around for a while.

The ribbon cutting will happen at arouned 12:15pm.
Meantime, the Town of Huntsville and the Huntsville Royal Canadian Legion are hosting a commemoration ceremony before the exhibts grand opening. The ceremony is happening at the cenotaph at 11am. A parade will follow to Muskoka Heritage Place for the ribbon cutting ceremony. The grand opening of the exhibit is free to attend.
