Snowmobile trails are still officially closed in the Muskoka area according to the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs.
The recent warn weather hasn’t helped with keeping conditions favourable for riding around the area.
Nathan MacDonald, with the Du Ya Wanna Snowmobile club in Huntsville, says they have been unable to condition their own trails for proper riding.
MacDonald says initially the club officials will ride the trails the first time cutting back brush and checking for ice conditions.
He says that enables them to eventually send in their large industrial groomers which will make the trails safe and easy to navitage for all members.
A recent rise in temperature and heavy rainfall has washed a way a majority of snow over the weekend.
