Gravenhurst council has approved a capital budget worth $5,136,333 in 2016.
During a special meeting on Friday afternoon council reviewed the budget items.
Director of Corporate Services, Val Sequeira, says this will translate to an increase in taxes.
The increase is needed to pay for things like new vehicles for the Fire Department, bridge repairs and other equipment replacement.
The three-year capital plan will be subject to annual confirmation by council.
