The Gravenhurst Public Library is hosting a free four-part educational series in April focused on end-of-life planning.
Officials said the series, titled ‘Planning Ahead: End of Life Series’, will feature local professionals talking about a variety of topics over four days.
“This is a great opportunity to learn about the things we should all be considering if we haven’t done so already,” said Julia Reinhart, library CEO. “We are fortunate to have such great subject matter experts in the community – people willing to share their knowledge with us.”
The first session, titled ‘Estate Planning and Your Finances’, will be held on April 2 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The session will be about the basics of estate planning and will include topics such as organizing financial information, naming beneficiaries, and planning with confidence.
The second session, titled ‘Hospice Care and Support’, will be held on April 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The session will include topics such as determining when hospice care is appropriate and support for individuals and families.
The next session, titled ‘Funeral Planning and Your Options,’ will be held on April 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
In this session, people will learn about pre-planning arrangements, including common questions, honouring personal wishes, and easing future decision-making for loved ones.
The last session, titled ‘Understanding Wills and Legal Planning’, will take place on April 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The session will touch on topics such as the importance of having a will, the purpose of a will, key legal considerations, and reducing stress for families.
All sessions require registration. To register, call 705-687-3382 or e-mail library@gravenhurst.ca.
