The District of Muskoka will hold a casual drop-in event on March 20 for residents to ask questions about the Silver Bridge reconstruction project.
The event will be held inside Cedar Canoe Books in Bracebridge from noon to 2 p.m.
“Come hear the latest updates on the Silver Bridge project and ask your questions; no formal agenda or presentation, just good conversation,” said district officials.
In early January 2025, the District closed the bridge to all traffic and pedestrians after detecting deformation in its truss members.
The bridge has been closed ever since, but construction is now underway after the completion of a detailed structural review and a comprehensive rehabilitation plan, according to district officials.
Officials said Clearwater Structures Inc., the company overseeing the $2.4 million rehabilitation project, is on site this week, installing a temporary support structure for use during construction. The bridge is scheduled to reopen by the end of 2026.
Residents are invited to attend the event to get more information about the project and speak directly with District officials.
