Warming spaces available across Muskoka as cold sets in

As frigid temperatures settle across Muskoka this week, several indoor spaces are available for residents seeking relief from the cold.

In Gravenhurst, Town Hall is open as a warming location Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., welcoming members of the public during regular business hours.

Local recreation centres are also open daily and provide warm, accessible spaces. The Gravenhurst Centennial Centre is open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m; the Bracebridge Sportsplex operates from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., with reduced hours on weekends; and the Canada Summit Centre in Huntsville is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Public libraries throughout Muskoka are also available as warm indoor refuges during their regular hours. Library locations include Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, Huntsville, Baysville and Port Carling.

Residents are encouraged to make use of these facilities to stay safe and warm during the extreme cold.
