The Town of Gravenhurst is moving forward with Campbells Road rehabilitation project.
Council awarded the project to T.A.A. Construction for $263,686 at the March 17 meeting.
During the meeting, Andrew Stacey, Director of Infrastructure Services, presented a report stating road rehabilitation is needed for a section beginning approximately 330 m southeast of Gravenhurst Parkway and extending about 300 m south.
In his report, Stacey states that due to the presence of organic soils identified during a sub-surface geotechnical investigation, the rehabilitation process will require specialized construction methods.
According to Stacey, the rehabilitation project is intended to enhance the long-term resilience of the road, extend the asset’s useful service life, and reduce routine annual maintenance to a more manageable level.
Following a public tender held earlier this year, which attracted 30 plan takers and 14 formal bids, the project was awarded to T.A.A. Construction Inc., whose bid was the lowest received.
According to the report, the project’s awarded bid aligns with the allocation in Gravenhurst’s 2026 budget.
Bracebridge’s director of public works is expected to take a report to a General Committee meeting in April. Following approval, a cost-sharing agreement will be formalized.
If approved by Bracebridge council, Gravenhurst officials said the project is slated for substantial completion by the end of August.
