The Hanna Park Boat Launch and Windsor Park Dock will be closed from Sept. 8 to 28 for rehabilitation and replacement work.
According to the Township of Muskoka Lakes, the boat launch project includes design work, removal of the existing structure, installation of a new boat ramp and rehabilitation of the adjacent wharf landing.
Officials said the boat ramp, constructed in 1989, has reached the end of its useful life. Despite several repairs, the structure’s current condition, including issues with several connections, poses safety and environmental concerns, making replacement necessary.
A total of $118,000 has been allocated for the project, which was included in the 2026 municipal budget.
Officials said nearby public boat launches will remain available during construction, including 21 West Street and 1021 Birch Avenue in Port Carling, and 1008 Church Dock Road in Milford Bay.
The Township said rehabilitation work will also be carried out on the Windsor Park Dock. The work will include design and permitting, additional structural supports and steel piles, and replacement of the existing decking.
Officials said the existing decking is approximately 25 years old and has reached the end of its useful life. While repairs have been completed over time, rehabilitation is now required to maintain the dock.
A total of $114,500 has been allocated for the work.
The Township said Windsor Park will remain open throughout construction, with access restricted around the work area.
