Lake of Bays Fire Department receives $1200 cheque from Raso family in memory of son

In an incredible show of community support, the Lake of Bays Fire Department received a $1200 donation from the Raso family on December 16.

The cheque was presented at Station 30 Hillside by Angelo Raso, in memory of his son Johnny, who passed away in 2018 from a fentanyl overdose. The money will be used to support the Lake of Bays Fire Department’s mental health and peer support training for firefighters.

The Raso family has been active and contributing members of the Lake of Bays community for years and hosts an annual Bella Lake horseshoe tournament fundraiser, which raises funds for the department that responded to their son’s call.

The Township of Lake of Bays extends its sincere gratitude to the Raso family for their continued support to the safety and wellness of the community.
