Muskoka Lakes now accepting applications for community improvement program

The Township of Muskoka Lakes is now accepting applications for its Community Improvement Plan (CIP) private-sector incentive program.

The program provides grants and fee rebates to support projects that demonstrate a positive impact on the community.

“As economic pressures persist, the Township is committed to supporting investments that strengthen our community,” said The Township of Muskoka Lakes Mayor Peter Kelley. “Whether you’re preparing for winter or looking to get ahead for next summer, I encourage local business owners to get in touch and find out what support is available.”

The program aims to assist property and business owners in the Bala and Port Carling areas by providing financial incentives for projects that enhance downtown vitality and boost the year-round economy.

Officials said program streams include Attainable/Employee Housing, Shoreline Structures, Building and Mechanical Upgrades, Accessibility and Façade Upgrades, and Ecological Space Improvements.

According to officials, since 2022, the Township has provided approximately $316,000 in grants and leveraged $1.2 million in private investment.

Applications will be accepted until Oct. 29.
