The spring intake for the Township of Muskoka Lakes’ Community Improvement Plan (CIP) private sector incentive program is now open.
Applications will be accepted through the township’s website until May 31.
Mayor Peter Kelley explains the program helps property and business owners in pre-defined areas of Bala and Port Carling with financial incentives for “projects that improve the vitality of the downtown areas and contribute to the year-round economy.”
“The township continues to support investments which help to revitalize, refresh and enhance our community,” says Kelley. “Since the CIP program was established, we have seen a number of great projects come to fruition, and we look forward to seeing investment in our community continue.”
The program has provided around $75,000 in grants since 2022 which has leveraged $260,000 in private investment.
