Man rescued after being stranded on Bigwin Island

A Lake of Bays man is safe after he was stranded snowmobiling on Bigwin Island. Just after 7pm on Friday, emergency crews were called about a missing snowmobiler. Fifty-one-year-old Robert Breithaupt, went for a ride when he suddenly became stuck in deep snow.  Friends of the sledder were called for help, but were unable to attend because of poor weather conditions. A search was conducted and by 10:00pm the missing man was found. Police are reminding drivers to always carry a cellphone in the event of an emergency.
