Something shook the ground in Dwight this afternoon. Dwight resident Mike Russell tells the Moose he felt a loud, powerful earthquake that lasted about 3 seconds. He said others in the area felt it too. We called Natural Resources Canada and seismologist Cathy Woodgold said the department did pick up a magnitude 2.0 seismic event at 2:30 this afternoon within 3 km of Dwight. She said it may have been a small earthquake or a mining blast. Usually magnitude 2.0 events are not felt.
