With Thanksgiving weekend right around the corner, The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation in Huntsville is calling on volunteers to help everyone in the community celebrate the occasion.
On March 17, the Christian registered non-profit charity opened its food bank to the public in the former FreshCo plaza at 12 Cann Street. While the building remains under renovation, the foundation says more services will become available as construction progresses and funding allows.
This year’s event includes 222 participating locations nationwide, including Huntsville and Gravenhurst for the Muskoka region, each raising funds for a local charitable organization.
In Muskoka, walkers in Huntsville will fundraise in support of The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation, while Gravenhurst participants will raise funds for Gravenhurst Against Poverty.
Public health and registered nurses across Simcoe County-Muskoka are set to enter conciliation talks with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit on Nov. 5.
The annual community event will run Saturday (Nov. 7) and Sunday (Nov. 8) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days at the Huntsville Legion, located at 21 Veterans Way.
