The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation calling on volunteers for Thanksgiving weekend

With Thanksgiving weekend right around the corner, The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation in Huntsville is calling on volunteers to help everyone in the community celebrate the occasion.

Executive director and founder Heather Cassie said volunteers shifts available include the exchange thrift store on Friday (Oct.9) and Saturday (Oct. 10) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the food bank on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and cooking soup kitchen meals in the community kitchen Sunday (Oct. 11) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday (Oct. 12) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cassie said any help is greatly appreciated, but volunteers for the community kitchen is currently their biggest need.

The Table is also hosting their 20th anniversary Thanksgiving soup kitchen meal on Monday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Trinity United Church.

To sign up for the meal or to volunteer, call 705-783-5827 or visit The Table Food Bank at 12 Cann St.
