Drugs and a loaded weapon found by police at a traffic stop. Just after 10:00pm Thursday night, West Parry Sound OPP was conducting radar on Highway 400 in Carling Township when they caught a truck going over the posted limit. An investigation led to the seizure of marijuana and a loaded hand-gun. The 31-year-old driver is charged with two traffic offences including speeding, three drug offences including possession for the purpose of trafficking, and five offences related to loaded firearm including possession of a loaded prohibited firearm. The 62-year-old passenger faces three similar drug possession charges as well as a charge of being an occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm. The two accused were held in custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound for a bail hearing.
