One man is in custody after gunshots were reportedly heard in Lake of Bays.
Huntsville OPP says it responded to a dispute at a house on Elder Dr. around 3:50 a.m. Monday morning. According to police, one person suffered minor injuries and was treated by paramedics on site.
Officials say a heavy police presence was on the scene, arresting a 23-year-old from Lake of Bays around 8:40 a.m.. His charges include possessing a firearm without a licence, pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm, and assault with a weapon.
The accused is being held in custody ahead of a Nov. 9 court date. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call Huntsville OPP at 705-789-5551 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
