Councillor Det Schumacher is running for re-election in Huntsville. He has entered his name to continue to represent Stisted, Stephenson and Port Sydney Wards. Schumacher says road maintenance is still a major issue for his wards.

Schumacher also wants to take part in properly addressing staffing needs at the Public Works Department. Schumacher has been serving on council since 1983, expect for one term during that time. He says he simply loves this town.
