76 year old Bracebridge man dies in fatal Highway 400 collision
OPP say a 76 year old Bracebridge man died last night after driving the wrong way on Highway 400. It happened south of Essa Road in Barrie.
At about 9:30 pm a Dodge Caravan, started travelling northbound on Highway 400 from Mapleview Drive in the southbound lanes. The van collided with a southbound tractor trailer. Marvin Calhoun of Bracebridge was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the transport was not injured.
The OPP Traffic Support Unit is assisting with this collision investigation. Provincial Constable Y. Hemmati-Barogh of the Aurora OPP Detachment is the lead investigator. Any witnesses to the collision are asked to call the Aurora OPP Detachment.
