ESA urges residents to hire a licenced contractor to do electrical work

The Electric Safety Authority (ESA) wants you to make sure you don’t try to fix electrical problems yourself. Local senior inspector Trevor Tremblay says it’s a province-wide campaign to encourage residents to hire a licenced electrical contractor (LEC).

Tremblay says licenced electricians are legally authorized to perform electric work on your home. Tremblay tells us when you should hire an LEC

Tremblay says you might want to also make sure that the person you’re hiring has all the necessary paperwork and licence to do the work in your home.

The ESA website will have all the information you need on the Electrical Safety Code and has a link to find am LEC in your local community.
