Man suffers minor injuries from runaway boat on Georgian Bay

Local emergency personnel responded to a runaway boat on the waters of Georgian Bay, south of Honey Harbour, on May 21.

Police say officers were dispatched to the waters near Brandy’s Island around 2:15 p.m. after a 57-year-old man was ejected from his boat into the water.

According to police, the boat continued in a circular pattern and struck the man in the water.

Officers were assisted on scene by the Georgian Bay Township Fire Department, and were able to safely rescue the man and stop the boat.
