Huntsville Hospital Foundation raised over $1.1 million to support local healthcare

The Huntsville Hospital Foundation has facilitated a major boost for local healthcare, presenting Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare with a cheque for more than $1.1 million.

The funding includes the $692,425 final disbursement in support of Huntsville Hospital’s MRI, helping to bring advanced diagnostic imaging closer to home for residents across the region.

In addition to the MRI, foundation officials say the funds will support a range of essential hospital equipment, including mammography, infant security, and central patient monitoring systems. The investment aims to ensure healthcare teams have access to modern tools needed to deliver high-quality patient care.

Since the MRI unit began serving patients in June 2025, more than 2,300 scans have been completed.

Officials say the milestone reflects the generosity of donors and the community, whose contributions continue to enhance healthcare services in Muskoka.
