The Huntsville Hospital Foundation (HHF) has received a $10 million donation from Eric Sprott in support of the Raise Muskoka campaign.
The foundation announced the donation to the campaign to build a new Huntsville hospital on Oct. 20, bringing the total funds raised to more than $63 million toward its $70 million milestone goal.
According to foundation officials, the Sprott family has a longstanding history of supporting healthcare in Muskoka. Their contributions have helped advance diagnostic care across the region, including through the Sprott Foundation Diagnostic Imaging Department at Huntsville Hospital.
Sprott is also encouraging community members to show their support and contribute whatever they can to the campaign.
“Muskoka has been a very important part of our family’s life, and supporting the hospital was always important to us,” said Sprott. “We are proud of what our family and The Sprott Foundation have helped make possible over the years. Now we have an opportunity to build on that legacy with a new hospital. I’m very pleased to make this gift and to challenge everyone who loves Muskoka to be part of it.”
Officials said the new hospital is expected to provide the resources needed to serve Muskoka’s growing and aging population, and the Sprott family’s generosity continues to make a difference across the region.
“Their generosity has already touched the lives of so many patients and families,” said HHF CEO Katherine Craine. “This gift continues that commitment and will help shape the future of healthcare in Muskoka.”
