First Muskoka’s Got Talent event raises around $25,000 for Community Living Huntsville

The first Muskoka’s Got Talent event raised approximately $25,000 for Community Living Huntsville to help individuals with developmental disabilities.

The event took place on Feb. 28 at the Algonquin Theatre, drawing people from across the region to watch ten performers compete for the grand prize of $1,500.

Hollie Stronks was the winner of the night, taking home the grand prize.

Jerrett said the funds raised will support individuals with developmental disabilities by providing access to stable employment, housing, and other essential community services.

In previous years, the event was called Huntsville Got Talent and was limited to Huntsville residents. However, according to Jennifer Jerrett, event organizer and Community Engagement Specialist for Community Living Huntsville, it was rebranded as Muskoka Got Talent due to strong demand from participants and audiences across the Muskoka region.
