Community Living Huntsville hosting silent disco this weekend

Community Living Huntsville is inviting you to dance the night away for a good cause.

The organization’s signature silent disco takes place May 29 at 8 p.m. at Canvas Brewing Co.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will support Community Living Huntsville’s housing initiatives aimed at ending homelessness for people with developmental disabilities across North Muskoka.

Organizers say the event will feature a live DJ dance party featuring wireless headphones with three music channels to choose from, including one hosted by the live DJ. The headphones will glow different colours depending on the music channel selected, allowing guests to connect with others enjoying the same tunes.

Attendees will also receive glow sticks, gourmet pizza from Pizzaville, and a mocktail as part of admission. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase separately.

Community Engagement Specialist Jennifer Jerrett says the event offers a unique and personalized experience for everyone on the dance floor.

“If everyone is listening to different songs, you’ll witness a rare and beautiful phenomenon known as synchronized chaos – it is beautiful, hysterical, but beautiful,” said Jerrett.

She adds that there is no dress code, but sequins are encouraged.

The event is for ages 16 and up. Ticket are $45 available here.
