Food Truck Wars brings friendly competition to Muskoka in support of Community Living Huntsville

A new community competition is coming to Muskoka, giving residents and businesses a chance to participate in friendly rivalry while supporting a good cause.

Food Truck Wars runs from September 1 to 30, with nine food trucks from Huntsville, Dwight, Port Sydney, and Emsdale participating.

Officials say each food truck will donate a portion of proceeds from a specialty featured dish to Community Living Huntsville, a registered not-for-profit charity that supports people with developmental disabilities in the community.

Featured dishes will include a variety of local favourites, including burgers, wontons, tacos, crepes, and poutine.

At the end of the competition, the food truck that raises the most funds will be named champion and take home the Food Truck Wars Trophy.

“Food Truck Wars is all about bringing people together,” said Laura Flynn, Community Engagement Associate with Community Living Huntsville. “These local business owners will be friendly competitors, but they are also community partners who have chosen to support a disability-inclusive community where everyone has the opportunity to belong.”

Community members can also download the official Food Truck Wars Bingo Card, and those who complete a full card can submit it for a chance to win a Community Living Huntsville Prize Pack valued at more than $50.
