Organizers of the annual Bracebridge Fire and Ice Festival are calling for volunteers to help bring the popular winter celebration back to life on January 31.
A range of volunteer roles are available, including event set-up and tear-down, ticket sales, tube run attendants, parking lot ambassadors, and children’s carnival game attendants. Shifts are offered in time slots over multiple days, and volunteers can choose positions and times based on availability. Registration remains open until all positions are filled.
“This is the largest and most epic event of the year, and it can’t be done without volunteers,” said Tracy Larkman, Bracebridge BIA manager. “If you’re looking for a really fun day, come and join us.”
Volunteer training will be held at Stevens’ Your Independent Grocer in Bracebridge on January 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. The training is not mandatory but will be helpful for participants to understand what to expect during their shifts, Larkman said.
All volunteers will receive a Fire and Ice toque, a hot meal, free entry to the festival, and a fast pass for the tube run. A volunteer appreciation night will take place on February 22 at Bracebridge Hall, featuring food and lighthearted awards.
The Fire and Ice Festival is funded by the Bracebridge BIA and local sponsors, with all funds raised reinvested to ensure the event continues in future years.
Those interested can sign up through the festival app or on the event website.
