Moose FM teaches ‘Camp Radio’ at LEAP 2025 for Girl Guides of Canada

Moose FM was invited to teach Camp Radio at LEAP 2025, Girl Guides of Canada Summer Camp, which took place at Rosseau Lake Collage on Lake Rosseau from August 3 to 10.

Dave Newman, our program director, and I had the honor to teach six different groups of girls aged 10 to 17 a little bit about what we do, and how to be a storyteller.

We had a lot of interactive moments such as some practice with reading headlines, playing games like two truths one lie, and at the end the girls came up with their own radio scripts which varied from “Camp Tips” to “Talking About Parents” to “News Stories” and there was even a “Message From Sponsor”.

It was incredible to witness live how creative these girls are and how excited they were to learn about radio and storytelling.

Moose FM thanks Girl Guides of Canada for this invitation and allowing us to experience the positive energy that radiated throughout the camp through the girls, leaders and volunteers.

In this video, I’ve captured some one-on-one clips from a few of the girl guides, I added some of the teaching moments from Dave and myself and included some of their project recordings at the end.
