More than 1,000 girls, youth, and volunteers from Girl Guides of Canada will be attending LEAP 2025 at Lake Rosseau from Aug. 3- 9.
According to officials, LEAP 2025 is a week-long camping experience with the intent to provide girls and youth 10 to 17-years-old with confidence, challenge comfort zones and create lifelong friendships.
Throughout the week, there will be a series of dynamic programming ranging from archery and drone flying to making bubble tea, radio broadcasting and more. All of this will be happening while camping in tents and connecting with peers from Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and Newfoundland and Labour.
“LEAP 2025 is set to be an unforgettable experience where girls and youth will step into leadership, build lasting friendships, and develop life skills that go far beyond camp,” said Melanie Nicholson, LEAP 2025 Camp Director. “Bringing more than a thousand participants together at Lake Rosseau, we’re creating a unique space where confidence, creativity, and community will thrive — that’s what Guiding is all about.”
According to LEAP officials, the camp has hundreds of volunteers and many of those volunteers were campers who decided to make a return as mentors to aid in shaping the next generation of leaders.
They say for many participants, LEAP 2025 is the sum of two years of preparation, fundraising and skill-building.
