Huntsville Back-to-School Festival helps prepare students for school year

Muskoka families are being invited to prepare for the return of the school year at a community celebration.

Hosted by Christine’s Place, the Back-to-School Festival will take place today (August 14) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at River Mill Park and parking lot in Huntsville.

Backpacks filled with essential school supplies will be available for registered grade school students, while quantities last, as well as a limited number for older students who could benefit from some additional support.

Officials say the festival is designed to help families face financial pressures while providing an opportunity to connect with members of the community, ensuring students return to class prepared and supported.

Residents are also being advised that the River Mill Park parking lot will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accommodate the festival.
