Township of Muskoka Lakes Fire Department to conduct training Aug 22 to 24

If you see increased fire department activity and emergency watercraft in Bala this weekend, don’t panic.

The Township of Muskoka Lakes Fire Department will be holding training exercises at Windsor Park Aug. 22 to 24.

Specifically, local firefighters will be completing the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Surface Water Operations and Technician Course. This course is delivered through Ontario Fire College and aids in the development of emergency service workers to better the district’s overall readiness for water rescues.

Officials say the training will take place:

  • August 22 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • August 23 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • August 24 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Officials say there will be posted signage to make sure the public is informed of the training.

There is no risk to the public.
