Second annual Rock the Pickle to take place on August 23

The Port Carling Community Centre will host the second annual Rock the Pickle on August 23.

Organized by Solutions With Impact, this celebrity-driven pickleball tournament and fundraiser is raising money for Melanoma Canada’s skin cancer-prevention initiatives.

“Partnering with Melanoma Canada allows us to harness community spirit and sport for a

meaningful cause,” said Joel Hock, Event Producer and CEO of Solutions With Impact.

“Last year’s success motivates us to raise even more awareness and funds this August.”

Officials said all the proceeds will go towards supporting Melanoma Canada programs, including its sun safety outreach, its Mole Mobile program, patient support services and education.

According to officials, this year’s celebrity participants include actor Kim Coates, TSN’s James Duthie and Lindsay Hamilton, and professional golfer Rory Sabbatini.

The event kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with celebrity pickleball matches and breakfast. At 10:30 a.m., the tournament will begin, with teams of two and four playing a minimum of three round-robin matches on multiple cottage properties across Lake Rosseau and Lake Joe.

Melanoma Canada advocates for and supports Canadians living with melanoma and skin cancer by providing helpful resources, education, psychosocial support services, and more.
