Thousands without power after winds blow through central and southern Ontario

Thousands are still without power as HydroOne crews continue to clean up last night’s storm.

Our area, along with many more across central and southern Ontario, is effected.

According to Hydro One’s outage map, across southern and central Ontario there’s about 78-thousand customers without power after storms rolled through.

Hydro one says crews have made significant progress with restoration today. Officials say  resources are being moved to the hardest hit areas including Minden, Fenelon Falls, Bracebridge, Orillia and Bancroft to support restoration efforts. In areas where damage is more severe and harder to reach, it may take 24-48 hours to make repairs and restore power to all customers.
