The second annual Classic Cottage Golf and Concert event will take place in Huntsville on June 20.
The event will be held at the Deerhurst Resort and will include golf tournaments, cocktail hour, dinner and a concert.
Andy Mattice, co-organizer, said 100 per cent of the proceeds will go to support the Mike Brown Fund and Mind-Aid.
The Children’s Foundation of Muskoka’s Mike Brown Fund helps local children and youth participate in sports and recreation, while Mind-Aid is a non-profit supporting community youth struggling with mental health issues.
“Last year we raised 70,000 dollars,” said Mattice. “So last year was a two-day event. This year we’ve shrunk it down to a one-day event.”
Myke Malone, another co-organizer, said the golf tournaments will take place at the 18-hole Deerhurst Highlands and 9-hole Deerhurst Lakeside courses.
“You could come to just the golf in the afternoon. You could come just to the dinner or to the concert. It’s a really good mix of activities,” said Malone. “You don’t have to do all three, but the option is there, of course.”
Malone said about $32,000 was distributed last year to help young children in the Muskoka region participate in sports.
According to Mattice, Cam Galloway will play during the cocktail hour, followed by concerts from the Tom Barlow & Tobin Spring Band.
