Bracebridge will move forward with road replacement

A cancelled sewage project will not hold up necessary road upgrades in Bracebridge.

Since the District of Muskoka has scrapped a proposed sewage project for areas around Westvale and McCrank Drive, Bracebridge is moving on with its own work.

On Monday, Councillor Lori-Lynn Giaschi-Pacini suggested council give formal notice to the district that the town would move forward with the road replacement project.

After a bit of discussion, council voted in favour of the motion.

Originally, the road replacement was meant to coincide with the sewage installation to minimize cost to the district.

The cost of the road replacement is pending approval, with the final decision on the budget expected from council on March 15th.
