Dozens of students hired for summer jobs with the District of Muskoka

The District of Muskoka continues to stay committed to providing summer jobs to students looking to gain some extra experience with their paycheck.

This summer the district has hired 27 students to help with various duties across the region.

District CAO Michael Duben says it’s beneficial to the students, but can also be an investment for the district.

Just under $300,000 was invested in this year’s budget towards the student positions, which Duben says breaks down to about $10,000 a student.

He says generally they hire students enrolled in post-secondary education.
