The excitement is still fresh in Muskoka, as the celebrations continue for Dara Howell’s gold medal win. Howell had her start in skiing and freestyle at the Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area in Huntsville.

Meantime, Howell’s win has given some of the younger athletes something to look forward to. Eleven-year-old Ashley competes on a provincial level and says watching her win was inspiring.

Howell is the first woman to win gold in the Slopestyle event at the Olympics.
