EXTREME COLD WARNING ISSUED FOR MUSKOKA

Frigid temperatures grip the Muskoka region as Environment Canada issues an extreme cold warning for the area.

Another arctic blast is targeting Muskoka as northerly winds could bring record-setting lows.

Overnight temperatures could sink to below minus 35 with the windchill tonight and Monday night.

Be sure to cover any exposed skin with scarves, gloves, and a hat.

With temperatures this low, frostbite can set in within minutes.

Keep pets inside and check on family members, friends and neighbours that might be vulnerable in this extreme cold.

The frigid temperatures are expected to extend into New Years Day and possibly Tuesday.
