The Madill Church could be getting a lifeline. A group called The Madill Church Preservation Society has formed, and is asking to take over the deed for the building, which is currently owned by the United Church of Canada.
The UCC has told Huntsville that it no longer has any use for the log building, which was built in 1873, and says it will tear it down if the town doesn’t take over ownership.
The preservation society has told the town is wants to take over ownership of the church, and the town is going to discuss the option during Monday night’s council meeting.
