A little rain isn’t going to bring the Huntsville party down

Huntsville Canada Day celebrations are running rain or shine. The Main Street and River Mill Park events, which includes the decades parade, will still be happening if it’s light rain. However, in the case of thunder, lightning or heavy winds, it will all be moved to Partners Hall which is at the Algonquin Theatre.

The town is going to make the call at about 7:15 Saturday morning. Right now, the forecast is calling for sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of showers.

When it comes to the fireworks, Huntsville’s Fire Prevention Officer Mike Vadlja says if there is a heavy downpour or thunder and lightning the fireworks will be postponed until Sunday night. If it’s a light sprinkle, Vadlja says the show will go on.
