Huntsville getting ready to celebrate a milestone Canada Day

Huntsville is going to be decked out in red and white very soon. The town’s Canada Day plansĀ are set, which starts off with a Lions Club breakfast in River Mill Park at 8:00am, where peameal bacon on a bun will be served.

After that, the town will take a trip down memory lane with the first ever Decades Parade. The parade is going to highlight key moments in Huntsville and Canadian history. The town says to wear your red and white to the parade, and bring a non-perishable food item. It starts at 9:00am, and after that there will be Canada-inspired live music at the park. Main Street will have live music, vendors, and a gallery throughout the day as well.

Muskoka Heritage Place is also going to have Canada Day events, with live music and costumed narrators. There will be historical demonstrations, and strawberry scones.

Other events include a BBQ and dance at the Legion, and homegrown food with local crafts at the 100K Farmers Market.

The day will end with fireworks over Hunters Bay after sunset, which will have musical accompaniment on Moose FM.
