If you think your have your child’s car seat installed properly, you might be wrong.
This from the Orillia OPP which recently ran a child seat spot check at the Michael’s parking lot.
Trained officials from Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit checked 51 child seats during the day.
About 73% of the checked seats had something wrong, including being installed incorrectly, expired or being completely wrong for the weight, height and age of the child.
All parents who participated were given a tutorial on how to correctly use a child seat.
The health unit will be looking to try and reach out to parents to provide better education on using child car seats.
