There will not be any pond hockey or any skating on Cann Lake this winter.
Town officials announced they will not open the skating rink due to the unpredictable weather conditions and the shortened winter. They also note they do not have the resources required to build and maintain the rink.
Residents are encouraged to visit the Canada Summit Centre for skating opportunities like public skating and shinny.
