Spring brings more wildlife on roads across Muskoka

The weather is getting nicer, which means more wildlife on our roads. The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) is asking you to keep an extra eye out, while driving on our highways. The MNR says moose, elk and deer are the ones to watch out for in spring, especially at dawn and dusk.

If you see an animal on the road, the MNR suggests you slow down and honk your horn in short bursts. At night, blink your headlights to warn the animals and give them a chance to move out of the way. For more tips and suggestions, you can go to the MNR’s Watch for Wildlife website.
