Bracebridge Sportsplex to undergo maintenance Sept. 4-21

The Bracebridge Sportsplex will be closed to the public from Sept. 4 to Sept.11 for annual maintenance.

According to Town of Bracebridge officials, the facility maintenance improvements will include replacing the leisure pool circulation pumps, conducting a deep cleaning of the facility, waxing floors, painting walls, and thoroughly cleaning the pool deck and changerooms.

Officials said the Town will also make improvements to the climbing facilities, including thoroughly cleaning all holds, climbing wall panels, equipment, harnesses, helmets and ropes. The holds will also be reset to create new routes and challenges for future climbers.

As a result, officials said from Sept. 4 to 11, walking track hours and select fitness classes will be available at the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre.

From Sept. 12 to 20, the Bracebridge Sportsplex will reopen to the public, with people able to access the indoor walking track and Kubota North Wellness Centre. However, the pool and climbing wall remain closed.

Staff said that while the Sportsplex pool will be closed, people can access the pool at the Canada Summit Centre in Huntsville using their Town of Bracebridge memberships.

The Sportsplex is expected to be fully reopened to the public on Sept. 22.
