District of Muskoka opens new Lake Muskoka Depot in Bracebridge

The District of Muskoka opened a new supervised Lake Muskoka Depot in Bracebridge to provide residents and property owners with a convenient and reliable waste disposal option.

According to the District, the depot, located at 1770 Beaumont Drive, opened for service on June 13.

“The Lake Muskoka Depot gives residents and seasonal property owners a convenient and reliable place to manage their waste close to home. It’s an important addition to the community and helps ensure residents continue to have access to modern waste services,” said Brenda Rhodes, District Councilor.

Officials said the initiative is part of the Bin Site Transition Project, which began in 2019 and concluded in January 2026. It aimed to transition Muskoka’s previously unstaffed and unsupervised dump sites into long-term, environmentally sustainable waste collection services.

District staff said the new depot is an accessible and environmentally responsible community option that supports a safer, cleaner, and more convenient waste management system while giving residents more ways to manage waste responsibly.
