Lake of Bays Arena in Baysville reopens following closure

The Township of Lake of Bays has officially reopened the arena floor of the community centre in Baysville, following a temporary closure of the facility.

The community centre, arena, and public library in Baysville were fully closed on May 5, following an issue affecting part of the property. Township staff have been working to safely reopen areas of the facility in phases, with the library reopened on May 13, and the community centre reopened on May 20.

According to officials, the reopening follows continued monitoring and an inspection by the township’s engineering team completed today (May 26), which confirmed the area could safely reopen to the public.

The facility will now resume normal operations, including pickleball and other previously cancelled programming. Public access is available through the Carol Street entrance.

Portions of the parking lot remain closed, and officials say those areas will reopen once necessary repairs have been completed.

Updates will be provided when available.
