Local family-owned bus service gets nominated for provincial award

Hammondbus.com has been nominated as a finalist for the 2026 Northbridge Insurance Passenger Transportation Safety Award.

The award recognizes organizations across Ontario that demonstrate excellence in passenger safety, regulatory compliance, driver training programs, collision prevention practices, and overall operational performance.

“This recognition speaks directly to the culture we have built at Hammond,” said Greg Hammond, CEO of Hammondbus.com. “Safety is not just a requirement in our business—it is a responsibility we take personally every single day. I am incredibly proud of our entire team for the commitment they show in delivering safe, reliable transportation to the communities we serve.”

According to officials, for more than 80 years, the Bracebridge-based, family-owned transportation service has been a provider of school transportation, charter services, transit and group travel throughout Muskoka, Parry Sound, and surrounding communities.

Currently, the organization has 175 vehicles serving the Muskoka, Parry Sound, North Simcoe, Haliburton and Algonquin Park areas.
