Gravenhurst launches $2,000 student bursary

The Town of Gravenhurst has launched its annual high school bursary, offering $2,000 to an eligible student from Gravenhurst High School.

The town is now accepting applications until May 29.

“The purpose of the bursary is to help offset the costs of post-secondary education,” said Mayor Heidi Lorenz. “The town is pleased to play a role in helping our youth achieve their academic dreams.”

According to officials, applicants must also submit an essay addressing this year’s topic: “What types of activities or spaces would strengthen community connections in Gravenhurst?”

Officials said a letter from an educational professional, such as a principal, teacher, or guidance counsellor, is also needed.
