Hospice Muskoka – Andy’s House received an $80,000 grant from the Oakville Community Foundation to expand access to essential care for Muskoka residents.
Jody Somerville, Development and Communications Manager with Hospice Muskoka, said the contribution will directly enhance the quality of care they provide to individuals and families during the most vulnerable moments of their lives.
“The donation will support both operational costs and critical program services at Andy’s House, including patient care, family support programs, and grief and bereavement services,” said Somerville. “This ensures that all residents continue to receive care in a home-like, dignified environment, at no cost to them or their families.”
According to Somerville, the contribution came from the LeVan Family Foundation through their fund at the Oakville Community Foundation.
Somerville said the donation will also support 24/7 palliative care and enable the organization to continue offering essential programs and services that the community relies on, both at Andy’s House and throughout the region.
“Hospice Muskoka must raise $1.5 million this year to make the budget. This donation goes a long way to getting us there,” she said.
